David and I arrived home early this morning. It was a long flight home but after a good night’s sleep we both came into work this morning.
If you head to CBS 21.com and click on the DEPLOYED IN KUWAIT link you will see the stories we did while there as well as some of the stories we have started filing since we came back.
It was truly an honor to visit our soldiers and see what life is like over there.
Our reports next week will air Monday through Friday in the 10 and 11 pm news.
Monday we will explore why the United States is actually in Kuwait. We look at the mission.
Tuesday I show you the answer I was given after asking the commanding officers why is the National Guard over there ? Don’t we have a full-time army for this?
Wednesday you will see what Camp Arifjan is like. We show you where the soldiers sleep, eat, and spend their down time.
Thursday we will introduce you to a father and son both deployed to Kuwait.
And Friday we look at how the soldiers call home. How technology has changed deployments for many who are so far from their loved ones.
Then on July 8th we look at the culture in Kuwait and see how many perceptions of the Middle East don’t apply to their country.
Please join us over the next week and let us know your thougths and questions.
